Situated on Bournemouth's exclusive and very popular East Cliff in a quiet tree-lined avenue, the Hotel is just a short stroll away from the golden sandy beaches and the cosmopolitan town centre which includes the Pavilion Theatre and the BIC (Bournemouth International Centre), as well as an extensive shopping area and numerous bars and restaurants. The Hotel has a choice of 3 restaurants - the famous Hancocks Bar named in honour of the comedian Tony Hancock who grew up here when the Hotel was owned by his parents, the main Sherbourne Restaurant and the more intimate Blue Moon Restaurant. During your stay, you can easily explore areas of untouched natural beauty in either the New Forest or the Purbecks which are both only a short drive or bus ride from the Hotel. For business events, the Hotel features conference and banqueting facilities which can cater for up to 120 people. The Hotel is also a very popular function venue for weddings and parties and we would like to highlight to our future Guests that as a result there may be some noise disturbance at these times, although no later than 12:30p.m. If you have concerns, please ask at the time of booking. For Corporate Guests the Hotel is well connected by public transport being only a 10-15 minute walk from the 'Travel Interchange and a 15 minute drive from Bournemouth International Airport - a shuttle leaves from the end of the road once an hour and takes 20 minutes. We are also very convenient for several well-known local Companies such as JP Morgan, Liverpool Victoria, Nationwide, Asda, Tesco and Unysis. Setanta Sports is available in the Hancocks Bar and there is free wireless internet throughout the Hotel. We have two car parks on site which are free of charge for Hotel Guests. The Hotel prides itself on its friendly and dedicated staff fully trained to cater for your specific requirements. The Head Chef and his staff have successfully gained an outstanding reputation for delicious traditional home cooked food served in our Blue Moon or Sherbourne Restaurants and our Hancocks Bar.. Our Hancocks Bar is available to Guests and non-residents, offering a wide choice of food on the bar menu and an outside decking area should you wish to enjoy the sun with a nice cool drink, however, if the weather is not everything you had hoped for you can enjoy the modern bar and maybe read up on Tony Hancock, or enjoy watching sport on the Setanta TV Channel. Please be aware that for bookings of 6 or more we may ask for a Credit Card Payment as guarantee against any damages/noise disturbance to other Hotel Guests. Bookings made on behalf of a Guest where payment is being made by a 3rd Party will need to send a confirmation e-mail giving authority to take payment from the Credit/Debit Card used to secure the booking. This e-mail can only be accepted if from the Company Account and will need to confirm the maximum amount we are permitted to take.
